Could tomorrow be the day that Federer becomes the greatest tennis player in history? Roger Federer is still searching for his first French Open title despite dominated the tennis world for the last six years. His main rival on clay is out of the championship leaving Federer with a slightly clearer path to glory in his fourth successive final appearance at Roland Garros. The Swiss will be in determined fashion on Sunday at the Philippe Chatrier court in front of 15 thousand fans.

A Swede stands between Roger and tennis glory. Robin Soderling is in blistering form going into the men’s final at the French Open. The 24-year-old has fought his way through to the final on the back of some great results against Nadal and Davydenko and also the gutsy win against Gonzalez in the semi-final. This would be Soderling’s first Grand Slam if he beats Federer and it would be a deserving achievement for the 23rd seed. MTF Prediction – The form books favour Soderling to win the French Open tomorrow, but we are going for Federer glory. Enjoy!

We are at the semi-final stage at the French Open today and it is the women who will do battle first. Number 1 seed, Dinara Safina finally dropped a set en route to the semi’s, but still looks in formidable form as she looks to go one better than last year’s final defeat and win the French Open title. The Russian faces Dominika Cibulkova in the first of today’s women’s semi-finals. The Slovakian is in great form going into the last four having comfortably beating Maria Sharapova in straight in the last round. This will be a ferocious encounter and is set to go the distance. MTF Prediction – This is a very tough call. The 20-year-old Slovakian might come up short with experience in the big game, but anything can happen at this stage. We are going with Safina though.

Hold on tight because this match is going to be an awesome display of passion, power and accuracy. The home crowd will be behind Monfils, but Federer won’t be intimidated by that because he has only one thing on his mind – ‘Nadal is out’. The Swiss legend is looking for his first French Open title and now has the best chance after his long-term nemesis, Rafael Nadal was beaten in the previous round at Roland Garros. Gael Monfils will be in no mood to spoil his own party though. The tall Paris born right handed player is looking to reach the semi-final of the French Open for the second year running and will give Federer a tough time on the Philippe Chatrier court later on today. Fifth seed takes on sixteenth seed in the third men’s quarter final match at Roland Garros. Both players are looking to reach the semi-final stage of the French Open for the first time in their careers. Del Potro is in fine form going into this match-up. The Argentinian convincingly disposed of Tsonga in the last 16 to reach the quarter-finals and now plays Tommy Robredo of Spain. Robredo will be attempting to take over the mantle of Nadal’s dominance by taking the men’s French Open title back to Spain again. MTF Prediction – Another tough one to call, but we will go for Del Potro. The Argentinian will be too strong for the Spaniard.

Can Robin Soderling go all the way in the French Open? We will have to wait and see if all the Swede’s energy has been used up on the world number one in the last round. Confidence in the Soderling camp must be sky high after the 24-year-old beat Rafael Nadal. Nikolay Davydenko will not be an easy opponent for Soderling today though. The Russian boasts a good record at Roland Garros and will be looking to reach the semi-final stage for a third time.
