Will Novak Erupt This Year At The US Open?

Novak Djokovic has started off the 2009 US Open in fine form brushing past his first two opponents to reach the third round. The Serbian must be determined to overcome the disappointment of the 2007 US Open final defeat and go one step further to winning the tournament this year, but the Serb will be hoping that he doesn’t meet Federer who has beaten him at the last two US Open tournaments.

His second round match yesterday was a walk in the park for the 22-year-old Monte Carlo resident – he blasted his way past Carsten Ball from Australia in straight sets  6-3 6-4 6-4  . Novak now faces Florida born, Jesse Witten in the third round. It should be another winnable match for Djokovic who has been wearing some bright threads on the court at this year’s US Open. Novak has always liked his dark shorts/tennis shoe look with a bright t-shirt and this year is no different with the number four seed going for a cadmium yellow t-shirt with orange detail on the back and a red stripe down the side. Flash look for the Serb, can he fire his way past his next opponent?

    Mamma Mia It's Fernando

Fernando Verdasco is also flying in the early rounds of the US Open. The Spaniard dispatched Frenchman, Serra in the second round 6-3 6-0 6-3 and will now face a tricky encounter against Tommy Haas of Germany. The tenth seed has also gone for a bright look at this year’s US Open (must be an adidas thing) with an orange zip-collar t-shirt which screams out intensity – something that Verdasco is not short of. His choice of shorts this year are a more casual khaki look which goes well with the bright upper. Just to round his look off Fernando has added a black and an orange sweat band for his wrists, it’s sweaty work being a pro tennis player.

Keep an eye out for more lavish styles and colors as we head into the weekends play at the US Open.
